Thirteen was the penultimate song to be written for the album. We didn’t have a track thirteen, so Evelyn decided to write a song about the number - and for good measure, as she was revising for her French ‘A’ level at the time, decided to write it in French too. She also basically wrote the piano part, though Andy plays it on the recording.
lyrics
